SALIOREL was originally built as a mobile web app, and at its peak supported over 20 cantonal schools in Zurich and Lucerne.
SALIOREL was used over 1.3 million times by students and teachers at KZO alone.
Over time, SALIOREL has evolved into a display software which now now powers the schedule and news displays of KZO and GBW in Wetzikon, allowing the school to display always up-to-date timetables alongside custom news information – remotely manageable.

| August 2014 | saliorel 2 is launched – now with cafeteria information. |
| Februar 2015 | saliorel 3 introduces a major UI simplification and redesign with the magenta and dark navy color theme it became known for. |
| August 2015 | saliorel 4 became the final version of the mobile web app, with an evolved user experience and popular features like the grade manager, Studmail, RoomFinder, and lesson comments. Its timeless UX lasted the entire rest of the web app's service life in 2024. |
| Early 2016 | saliorel Display was developed as a modern timetable software for schedule displays and soon introduced after being pitched to KZO to replace the suboptimally designed timetable display screens they used before. |
| Early 2016 | Soon after, saliorel News is introduced as a way to display news, events and announcements on school displays. |
| Late 2016 | saliokan is launched in the App Store as a real iOS and Android mobile app, based on saliorel 4 but extended for 20+ cantonal schools. It was available for sale for CHF 3.00. The app was featured on Apple's App Store main page “Im Spotlight“ in Switzerland in July 2016. |
| August 2022 | Gewerbliche Berufsschule Wetzikon also replaces their timetable and news software with SALIOREL Display and News. |
| Early 2024 | End of service for the free saliorel.com online web app for students due to API changes from the cantonal IT service. The display and news software are still in use and actively being maintained. |
